Heat Pump Installation & Repair in Des Peres — Common Questions
Answers to the questions Des Peres homeowners ask us most.
Do heat pumps work well for Des Peres homes in winter?
Yes. Modern inverter-driven heat pumps heat efficiently down to well below freezing, and Des Peres rarely stays below that for long. For the coldest stretches, a dual-fuel setup automatically switches to a gas furnace for backup.
Heat pump vs. furnace — which is better in Des Peres?
It depends on your fuel costs and home. If you have natural gas in Des Peres, a dual-fuel system is often the most efficient overall. If you're on propane or electric heat, a heat pump alone usually cuts your heating bills significantly.
Can you convert my Des Peres AC to a heat pump?
Often, yes — if your indoor coil and electrical service are compatible. We'll tell you honestly whether a conversion makes sense for your Des Peres home or a full replacement is the better value.
"Our AC went out on a 97-degree day and STL Air Pros had a tech at our house within two hours. Fixed a blown capacitor on the spot, explained exactly what failed and why, and the price was totally reasonable. Won't call anyone else."
